CCAYR mid-July Christmas Belles DT post

Sorry this is a day late, but we were away this weekend, and I didn't have a chance to schedule a post before-hand or do one while away.  So, without any further ado, here is my card for mid-July:

The ice skate is a Silhouette cut file that I thought would be cute paired with this retired Bugaboo image. I used the offset tool to make the outline around the skate itself to make it into a card.  My favorite brown distress ink, Frayed Burlap, was what I used to ink around the edges of the skate, the laces, and the die cut image.  Kraft card stock was used for the card base and the scalloped mat for the image.  Since I had used brown distress ink, I decided to go for a monochromatic look and colored the scarf brown too.

Challenges:

12 Months of Christmas Link Up #31:  ATG or optional "oh deer" theme
CCC#17:  ATG or optional inspiration photo

CHNC Extra DT post, July 2017

Hey bloggers!  How ya doin?  Stopping by very quickly to schedule this post for my DT commitment for CHNC Extra...and here is my card for July:

This adorable Bugaboo image is BUGRBLOCKS.  So super cute!  As you can see, the one in the lower left corner is Rudolph...he's just hangin' out with his buddies, Donner and Blitzen!  Looks like they might be playing hide-and-seek...or maybe Rudolph and Donner are shy?  Either way, Jodie has made them really cute, and easy to color.  They were colored with alcohol markers, and Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen was added to Rudy's nose and the "M" in the sentiment.  Glossy Accents also adorns Rudy's nose, but you really have to see it in person to tell.  Speaking of that sentiment, I really like that it is included in the image.  It sure saves me some extra steps in trying to find "the right one" from my extensive stash.  That yummy paper is from the Perfectly Plaid Christmas Lawn Fawn 6x6 pad.  It was so hard to choose which paper to cut into first!!

I found this sketch on the Outlawz blog:

and thought that this image would fit just right.  I just now noticed the "with love" sentiment suggestion in the lower left corner...I hope they will be OK with mine!

Challenges:

Christmas With The Cuties:  Clean And Simple
The Merry Christmas Challenge:  ATG optional "snowmen" theme
Crafting by Designs:  Get Ready for Christmas
Fab'n'Funky #357:  Christmas Crackers (anything Christmas)
Crimbo Crackers #135:  Sentiment

Well, I need to get going...the hubby and I are headed out to supper at our favorite local restaurant!  Make sure you stop by the CHNC Extra blog this month to see all the DT creations, as well as those of your fellow crafters!  Don't forget to add your own too...you could be the random winner of 4 Bugaboo images of your choice!  I look forward to seeing what is in store...

Take care and God Bless!

CCAYR Mid-Month Inspiration Time Again!

Howdy friends!  It's the middle of the month again (JUNE!!!), and that means it's time for the CCAYR Christmas Belles to give you some inspiration for this month's House/Cottage theme.  Here is mine:

I decided I wanted to make this birdhouse card again, just like the one posted here.  No cardinal this time...I am having an issue with my Silhouette software not recognizing my machine on the new desktop, so I had to dig out this Studio G bird stamp.  Stamped it in Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink, and punched out a small heart.  Leandra (my DD), said that I should stamp the word "home" in the bird house opening and place the heart underneath it to convey the message that "home is where the heart is."  Pretty clever of her, I think!  Used the Martha Stewart branch punch to make something for the bird to rest on outside the house.  The woodgrain embossing folder is from Darice.  Added Snow-Tex to the roof of the birdhouse, and some holly leaves and berries for some holiday d├ęcor above the opening.

June 2017 CHNC Extra DT time!!

Howdy blogger friends!  I'm here this evening to share with you some CHNC Extra DT inspiration!

As per our challenge guidelines, we are to use a Bugaboo image, and this cutie-pie is called Ava Christmas - mistletoe fairy.    As well as using a Bugaboo image, I also used the current Bugaboo sketch #510:

I realize now that I neglected the ribbon-looking element at the top of the sketch, but hopefully it'll still be acceptable!  The image and designer paper were just sitting on my desk , so I pulled the other elements together to complete the sketch.  I used a combination of alcohol markers to color my image, and afterwards, I added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to all the green parts.  The sentiment comes from the Lawn Fawn "Deck The Halls" set, and was stamped with my new Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink pad!  Unfortunately, that is the only time I have had to even use one of these pads, but hopefully that will soon change!

As this post will be scheduled, you may be reading this as my older daughter, Laurena, is graduating from high school!  I can NOT believe that the time has come for this to happen already.  I always knew this day would come, but I never imagined it would happen so fast!  Next year around this time, my younger daughter will also graduate high school...then what will I do??!!  I'll be fine...I think.

Anyhow, I will add this to some challenges once the post is live and as time allows.  For now, it's time to hit the hay!  4am comes early around these parts!  Don't forget to join us with your creations, for you could be the randomly picked winner!  Thanks for stopping by!

CCAYR Mid Month Inspiration

Howdy folks!  I'm glad you could join me this evening for another Christmas card for 2017.  This is the card I created for the May Christmas Cards All Year Round "Precipitation" theme:

Of course, I went with some snow, and this adorable Bugaboo Eggbert image.  I chose this gorgeous piece of designer paper from my stash that I have been hoarding...unfortunately, the name of this paper is behind the piece I used on the card, and I didn't write it down, so I can't tell you what it is! :(  I wanted to make this a shaker, but I also didn't want to cover up any of that yummy paper, so I made it a see-thru shaker pocket, using my Fuse tool for the first time.  The card base, the layer beneath the dp, and the shaker circle frame come from Craft Smith 12x12 paper pads in Turquoise and Ocean Blues.  The sentiment comes from the Snow Cool Lawn Fawn set, and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.  I made a custom mix of sequins from some blues and greens in my stash that I thought matched the papers I used.  Crystal Stickles was added to the snowballs and snowflakes on the image, and Eggbert was colored with a combination of Spectrum Noir and Prismacolor markers.

A couple days late, but here is some CHNC Extra DT inspiration for you!

Hello, fellow bloggers!  It seems I have been gone from here for a long time.  Honestly, I didn't spend a whole lot of time in my craft room (where the desktop computer is) in the month of April, so that's why my CHNC Extra DT post is late.  My apologies!  Here is what you came to see:

This purple Christmas card uses the Snowman Jingle Bell image from Bugaboo.  I would link to it, but I can't find it in the store.  I had it colored up, sitting on my desk, so I used it for my challenge card.  I needed some sketch inspiration, so I headed over to the Catch The Bug blog and found their current Stella Says Sketch challenge:

I love having a sketch to go by, as it takes some of the thinking out of it for me!  LOL  I'm going to check out some other challenges to link this card to, but please make sure you check out the CHNC Extra blog, and make a few cards to add!  You'll be that much closer to having lots of cards for your Christmas card stash!  Also, check out my fellow teamies' creations and leave them some blog love, as they are no less than stellar!  :)

Challenges:

Catch The Bug:  Stella Says Sketch #509
Sweet Stampin' Christmas:  April Anything Christmas
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #29:  ATG or optional "Cute Christmas" theme
Christmas Card Challenges #11:  ATG or optional color challenge
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #331:  ATG or optional "add stars" theme
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper:  ATG with patterned paper
Outlawz Festive Fridays:  Anything Christmas
Di's Digi Designs:  Use something digital
Crafting by Designs:  Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas??

Well, I guess that's enough...this has taken me forever to do, since I have changed desktops and lost all my favorites!  I found some new ones though!  :0

Thanks for stopping by today.  Take it easy and God Bless!

CCAYR Christmas Belles DT Inspiration

Just popping in tonight with a quick share for the Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge blog:

This month's theme was "flowers," so what better than poinsettias?  I was originally going to use one of my die cuts for this card, but when searching through my papers for something to go with it, I found this great paper with these stunning glittered poinsettias.  I just had to cut some out!  The paper I used on the bottom was from the same Recollections "Believe" pad.  The leaves on this paper were black, so I cut 2 of those out as well, and then used this DYMO label maker sentiment that has been laying on my desk for some time.  Added a piece of ric rac to emphasize the border, and this one was done.

Challenges:
12 Months of Christmas Link Up #28:  ATG or optional "vintage" theme
Sweet Stampin' Christmas:  ATG Christmas
Christmas Card Challenges #10:  ATG or optional photo challenge
CHNC #329:  ATG or optional "house or building" theme

That's all from me for today.  Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to enter the challenge over at CCAYR!  God Bless!
